Ceremony and Art Exhibit

During our ceremony, we will be honoring the following Pearls:

  • Crow Farm, Kennedysville
  • East Fork Farm, Chestertown,
  • Emory Farm, Queenstown
  • Fairview Farm, Centreville
  • Pickering Creek Audubon Preserve, Easton
  • Sandy Bottom Farm,  Earleville, Cecil County
  • Sedgewick (White) Farm,  Queenstown
  • Stanley Open Space Land, Town Creek, Oxford

Several well-known artists were selected by Easton’s own Nancy Tankersly to paint the pearls being honored, and a few past pearls.  These paintings will be exhibited and available for purchase immediately after the ceremony.  If you are interested in attending, please contact us at: contact@stringofpearls.org

December 13th &14th Local Businesses throughout Easton
Scavenger Hunt!

The paintings exhibited during our December 12th ceremony will be hung in various Easton businesses as part of a scavenger hunt.  Correctly completed scavenger hunt forms will be placed in a drawing for a real string of pearls.  You can download the scavenger hunt form here, or pick one up from the participating businesses.  Completed forms may be turned in at Easton Studio, 307 E. Dover Street, during business  hours, or during our reception on Sunday, December 15, before 3:00 pm.  The drawing will be held at our exhibit and reception on December 15th.  You need not be present to win.

Exhibit and Reception
Come enjoy a glass of wine and an evening of fine art, at our public exhibit of Pearl paintings!  Paintings will be for sale, with the proceeds being split between the artists, Chesapeake Bay String of Pearls Project, and the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy.  We will also hold the drawing for our Scavenger Hunt winner.

2014

At least once a year we hold a ceremony to honor Pearl creators in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Future ceremonies will honor those who protect lands elsewhere in the State of Maryland, and in the other jurisdictions in the Chesapeake Bay watershed: Virginia, the District of Columbia, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New York.
