Train Family and the memory of Russell
The Train property easement to the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy was created on December 31, 1998. It is 197.84 acres with shoreline along Grace Creek and Leadenham Creek. This farm is being magnificently maintained for wildlife and scenic beauty. Improvements in the last year include the addition of 5 wetland ponds and the planting of 2,000 – 3,000 trees (in deer tubes).
A wide variety of bird life are seen on the property – turkeys, wood ducks, killdeer, red-winged blackbirds, egrets, herons, as well as numerous song birds. There are 14 species of oaks on the property, and an orchard is being developed along the lane with apple, peach, plum, and pecan trees.
This Pearl was registered in June 2013.
